Can technology save architecture?

Last Friday, a fellow architect sent me this Youtube videoto check out:

(Thank you, James P. Greenfield, AIA of Denver, CO).  I am fascinated by the possibilities of these same systems being implemented for every architectural project being constructed; from the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Complex (600,000 s.f. – featured in the video) to the 200 s.f. kitchen renovation project.  What does this mean for architects?  I hear some of you thinking, “Ugh, sounds like a lot of work.” This is a huge opportunity here.  Let’s assume, or resume, in some cases, all of the responsibilities that architects can fulfill.  Let’s create a need for more of our services.  Let’s take back our profession!
